Led by award-winning director and cinematographer Nathan Ward, the Grit and Thistle Media crew is a talented group of cinematographers, editors, writers, still photographers, adventurers and international development specialists dedicated to creating stories with impact, stories with feeling, heart and inspiration. We’ve worked on nearly every continent in some of the wildest terrain on the planet with some of the most fascinating cultures – the Hadza in the Central Rift Valley of Africa, Tsaatan reindeer herders in Central Asia, Black Necked Crane conservation in the Kingdom of Bhutan, street children in Mongolia, education projects for orphaned and abandoned girls in the Andes.
We’ve also worked on commercial shoots for companies as big as NBC, The Weather Channel, and international NGOs being run by just a few dedicated people in a remote village. Our passion lies in telling the stories of people who don’t normally have a voice in the media, helping organizations create films and media projects that highlight and promote the vital work they are doing in the world.
